Update from Team Manager - Dave Wallace   8/29/07

The Husker Offroad race team has been extremely busy over the past month.  First of all, the race team shop moved to a new location in mid July.  Our new shipping address is: 5527 Stonecliffe Dr. Lincoln, NE 68516.  Please update your files as all shipping will now need to go to this location.

Immediately following our move, the race team set off for races in Ponca City, Loretta Lynn’s, and the Spring Creek National at Millville, MN.  Husker Offroad also resumed competition in the WinMX Series at races in Lamoni, IA, Winterset, IA and The Farm.  Furthermore, we have been re-working our practice facility with the help of Schaefer Tracks.  Entirely new outdoor and arenacross tracks are now available for The Husker Offroad race team to practice on.

We were extremely pleased with the efforts and results of all riders during this past month of continuous racing.  We are also happy to announce that Cody Gilmore has made a recovery from the cancer and broken bones that plagued him over the past year.  He is back to practicing and will hopefully be racing within the next month.  For race photos, individual rider results, and pictures of our new practice facility, please visit us at www.huskeroffroad.com.

Travis Urbach turned in tremendous results at Ponca City, but was hindered by bad starts at Loretta Lynn’s.  Since that race, Travis has been back on top with first place overall finishes in the 450F class and top 3 finishes in the 250F class.

Travis Hodges discovered that he was ineligible to race at both amateur nationals due to top 10 finishes in the AMA and BooKoo Arenacross races this past season.  Nonetheless, Travis gave his full support to all of the Husker Offroad race team members who were competing.  Locally, Travis went right back to his winning ways by capturing victories in 9 motos at 3 different races.

Carl Fritz was still suffering from a previous back injury at Ponca City, so he pulled out of the races after his first few motos.  He is currently finishing up his physical therapy and is back to practicing.  Carl should be competing again in the next few weeks.

Tony Burnham raced at Ponca City, but was not feeling completely up to speed due to a concussion he received at a Loretta Lynn’s regional qualifier at The Farm.  Following Ponca City, Tony injured both of his wrists (one with a small fracture) while practicing.  He anticipates being healthy for the October race in Branson, MO.

Craig Fritz was pleased to make the run-offs in 2 of his classes at Ponca City.  Since then he has consistently finished in the top 3 of the 450 & 250F classes.

Josh Hinton also made the run-off in his 450F class at Ponca City.  Almost immediately following Ponca City, Josh moved to Florida to attend the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute and pursue a career as a motorcycle mechanic.

Thank you again to all the sponsors for your continued support throughout this race season.  We truly appreciate all of your support.
